Oriental Rug Maintenence
Periodic Soil Removal:  Hang orientals outside and gently tap the back of the rugs with the handle of a broom and sand and soil will fall off the rug. Vacuum both sides and return to interior of home.

Pet Accidents :  Keep a can of Chem-Dry Spot Remover (available from Lil' Rhody Chem-Dry or at your local Home Depot store)  for immediate spotting. Spray the infected area and gently blot with a clean cloth.The carbonation will emulsify the soil or urine and bring it to the surface for removal with the transfer to the cloth.

Oil Stains: Spray the stain with Chem-Dry Oil and Grease Remover (available from Lil' Rhody Chem-Dry or your local Home Depot store ) Gently blot the area with a clean cloth and look for a transfer to the cloth. Repeat process as necessary.
Your local supermarket may  have Carbona Spot Remover  or K2r available on the household aisle, which may be substituted.  

Ink Stain-Immediately treat area with milk, and then use a table spoon to remove the liquid. Use a sponge and  water to blot the area afterwords. If  this is unsuccessful and the stain remains, call a professional.

Pet Hair & Dander -Use a plastic scrub brush to brush the fringe periodically and lightly brush the rug before vacuuming rugs to loosen up the pet hairs.
